The Berlin Kali School (BKS) was founded in 2010 and aims to offer its students a space to practice alternate medicine, martial arts and various movement styles. BKS instructors participate in seminars regularly to insure the high quality of instruction. Additionally, several of our instructors trained directly under grandmaster Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaje in the Philippines and were certified as instructors by him.
Dipita Schäfer is the head trainer of the BKS. He has practiced various styles of martial art for over 15 years, including intensive experience in Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, Kickboxing, Muai Thai and Krav Maga. As part of his study of sinology, he developed an interest in Shaolin Kung fu, Tai chi and Qigong. During his university studies, he received a scholarship to pursue his martial studies in Asia. During his 2 year sojourn, he was presented with an intimate look at the culture which forms the foundation of many martial arts. While training in China, he trained directly with monks from Shaolin and Wudang.
After watching a BBC documentary about the PTK system, Dipita decided to travel to the Philippines in 2009. In Manila, he began training under the guidance of Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaje jr. and his instructors. The philosophy and functionality of Pekiti-Tirsia Kali impressed Dipita from the outset.
“Training with weapons not only sharpens our perception, but forces students to develop an intelligent approach to protecting one’s self and others from harm. PTK teaches how to survive armed encounters from day one.”
Dipita received his promotion to Agalon in Pekiti-Tirsia Kali from both Grand Tuhon Leo Gaye and Tuhon Uli Weidle. In addition, he joined the instructor program of the PTK Europe association under the direction of Tuhon Uli Weidle.
“Kali as instructed by the Tortal family is a complete system; unifying both the combative and the personal development aspects of the martial arts."
We are a small group of Pekiti-Tirsia enthusiasts. We coordinate training and other events via our Facebook group "Kali Köln".
We have one regular training session per week. Training time and exact location for this regular training session is announced on our Facebook group 1-2 months in advance.
In addition, we often train a second time per week - spontaneously and on demand. (Not announced in the Facebook group)
We normally train outdoors (yes, even in winter and when it is raining, muddy and cold ;-). But occasionally we rent an indoor training room in winter time.
Training is given by Benni Tischler or Oliver Berli.
Neu gegründet, freut sich unsere kleine, aber feine Gruppe "Kali Oberschwaben, e.V." über Neueinsteiger, die in einem sympathischen Umfeld die Königin der Kampfkünste kennenlernen und trainieren wollen. Come as you are!
The Kali Stuttgart e.V. exclusively offers the traditional Filipino combat and movement system “Pekiti Tirsia Kali” in Stuttgart.
Based on concepts to defense armed and unarmed attacks this universal system provides you with the ability to react appropriately to conflicts.
In addition to the technical training and the philosophy, you will also learn the legal foundations of self-defense and gather a healthy self-confidence as well as physical fitness.
Following this, not every conflict has to end up in a fight, but can be avoided by preventing psychology, good negotiating skills, or escape.
Due to the usage of intuitive movements, all trained concepts (with and without arms) can be used in everyday’s life – therefore the Pekiti Tirsia Kali combat system is suitable for real conflicts, not for the boxing ring.
In every training session, we also train your physical basis, to make the best use out of our effective self-defense and self-assertion system. In special training sessions we combine Philippine exercises with Crossfit and high-intensity workouts.
Training for government agencies and groups is available on request.
A person training in a healthy environment will grow - internal as well as external. The Kampfkunstzentrum Reutlingen (Martial Arts Center of Reutlingen City) with it's 200 members is providing such a healthy environment.
From 1988 up to present the Kampfkunstzentrum Reutlingen has been where Tuhon Uli Weidle and his team of friendly, skilled and motivated trainers are teaching Pekiti Tirsia Kali and other martial arts.
Tuhon Uli hosted the first seminar with Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaje in Europe and from 1996 to present times Grand Tuhon Gaje was conducting seminars and workshops once sometimes twice a year. It can be said that the Kampfkunstzentrum Reutlingen and Tuhon Uli Weidle have been the origin for propagating Pekiti Tirsia Kali in Europe.
In 2012 the Kampfkunstzentrum moved to a nicer and bigger training location. We offer a huge training area with fixed mats, a functional strength training area, heavy bags, tire stack etc. Members have 24/7 access to the training facility. Kali classes are conducted every workday (Monday to Friday). Many of those classes are taught by Tuhon Uli Weidle personally. We offer weekend workshops several times a month. Full day training and full week trainings as well as personal training or small group training can also be arranged.

For many generations Kali Pekiti was only practiced within the family circle. We maintain this spirit as friends and family and train without artificial hierarchies. We train together in order that everyone grows: students and newcomers. For this reason we are organized as an association. Our group belongs to the organization of Pekiti Tirsia Europe that allows us to invite teachers and train ourselves in international seminars. We share experiences and cultivate a culture of peace based on respect for life. For more information, visit our website or just come by and train with us!
