I started martial arts with “Chi Sim Ving Tsun” in 1994 at Helmut Bauer in Bamberg.
I started to train in October 1995 in Würzburg/Germany at a seminar with Greg Alland who called his art “Sina-Tirsia-Wali” or “Kali”. He was one of the first students of Leo Tortal Gaje (Grand Tuhon of Pekiti-Tirsia) in the early 70’ in New York/USA. On this seminar I met Uli Weidle from Reutlingen also the first time. I kept on training at other seminars, in Helmut Bauer’s “TAO”-School in Bamberg and at other places until now.
At the start of my training I was just impressed by the powerful and dynamic movements of Kali. From the standpoint I came from I didn’t understand its logic in the techniques and teachings right away, but made me curious kept me thinking. After a while I also understood that Kali is even more than just self-defense techniques. It’s about going out in the world and belief in success. Especially in the modern world with its multimedia where extreme things are spread very fast and get the most attention it is valuable to behave during showing and training in a social accepted manner as I believe in goodness.
Martial arts is a well-loved hobby for me, professionally I work as an engineer in the automotive industry.
